2016 BET Awards sponsored was sponsored by Cricket Wireless and hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross. Cricket was able to sponsor the award show as added value based on upfront digital and video negotiations. The show had over 5.8 million viewers.
Cricket Wireless partners with Remezcla
Cricket Wireless partnered with REMEZCLA to create an integrated digital marketing campaign called ‘Sideconomics’, to feature successful Latinx small business owners and entrepreneurs in music, fashion, & food. They gave tips on how they use Cricket products to take their business to the next level. The campaign drove a 3.2% CTR and 6% VCR.
Cricket Wireless nominated for Branded Content Shorty Award
Cricket Wireless partnership with WWE and John Cena brought the popular "Unexpected John Cena" meme to life. Supported across YouTube, Facebook and Twitter with paid media support, the video received over 50 million cross-channel views, over 128.5 million impressions and over 1.3 million engagements across social channels.
Cricket Wireless nominated for Multicultural Community Engagement Shorty Award
To increase Hispanic brand engagement and familiarity, Cricket Wireless developed an evergreen, integrated marketing campaign. ‘No Hay Gato Encerrado’, generated over 3 million cross channel impressions, over 600K cross-channel views and an average video view rate of 15.8%.
Cricket Wireless partners with Pandora for HBCU Homecoming Kickoff
To engage multicultural audiences in authentic ways and spaces, Cricket partnered with Pandora to host its first ever HBCU Pop Out to kick off Morehouse and Spelman Homecoming. The event sponsorship was at no cost to Cricket, negotiated as added value during upfront digital media planning. Over 2,000 students and alumni attended, and Cricket was also the sole sponsor of Pandora’s 'Voices of HBCUs' station for two weeks and reached over 3,000 new listeners.
Cricket Wireless Social Platform #HearMeOut
Introduced in February 2019, #HearMeOut was a social platform that allowed artists to be heard, turning up the volume on issues and interests that affect underrepresented communities. Artists included, Bryan Michael Cox, DJ Drama, Justine Skye and Queen Naija
The campaign was supported with paid media on YouTube, Meta, Twitter (X) and Instagram. The videos received over 1M views, and 900K engagements.
